Face, palm and QR code
One camera module at the top of the lock recognises faces, scans the palm vein pattern without contact and reads QR codes. There is no reader in the handle. Guests can enter with a QR code, no card needed.
New access methods
Palm and vein scan
Hold your hand over the reader, no touching needed. The sensor reads the unique pattern of veins under the skin and checks that the hand is alive, so the method is very hard to fake with a photo or a copy. Recognition is fast, even with many users, and the system stores an encrypted template, not an image of the hand. Hygienic and convenient wherever security matters. Built in as standard in current SPACE locks and Pads with the camera module.
Bluetooth 6.0 (BLE) optional, on order
An optional Bluetooth 6.0 (BLE) module, available on order, adds two functions. Hands-free automatic opening: the user carries a wristband or clip with a BLE beacon, and when it comes within the set distance of the lock or Pad, the device opens the passage by itself, according to the assigned permissions and schedule; every opening is logged. This also suits autonomous devices such as robots, AGVs and vehicles that need the right to pass or drive through. Direct connection: the SPACE BMS Manager mobile app communicates with the lock or Pad locally over Bluetooth, without internet.
Accessibility
- Blind and low-vision users: the lock opens by face, so there is nothing to find or aim at. Voice messages confirm what happened: “door open”, “door locked”, “unknown face” or “no permission”, so nobody has to guess.
- Wheelchair users: raise your palm to the reader, without touching it, or roll up with a BLE beacon on the chair (Bluetooth 6.0 module, on order) – no reaching for a key or card.
- Older people: no key to lose or forget. The lock warns “low battery, replace the battery” in advance, so nobody gets locked out, and a carer or nurse can receive a time-limited code.
- Dementia and children: here control matters more than automatic opening. Permissions and schedules decide which doors open and when, and relatives or carers see every opening in the event history in the app.
- Biometrics only by choice: a PIN code, card, app and mechanical key always remain available.
